How 10mins-email-box works
The whole experience is designed around one idea: you should be holding a working email address before you've finished reading this sentence. Here's what happens behind the screen.
1. Instant address generation
The moment the page loads, the app asks a real mail server for a fresh account with a randomly generated name — something like ghost-x7k2q@…. There's no signup form, no password to invent, nothing to remember. The address is live and able to receive mail immediately.
2. A live inbox
While you wait, the app checks the mail server every few seconds for new messages. When something arrives — a verification code, a confirmation link, a newsletter you instantly regret — it slides into the inbox list automatically. Click a message to read it in full, or hit the Summarize button to have AI pull out the key details like codes, links, and deadlines.
3. The countdown
Every address is born with a ten-minute time-to-live, shown as a ticking timer. If ten minutes isn't enough, the +5 button extends the clock. Need a different identity? New address burns the current one and generates a fresh address on the spot.
4. Self-destruction
When the timer hits zero — or when you press Burn now — the account is deleted from the mail server. The address stops existing, the messages are wiped, and there's nothing left to tie back to you. That's the whole point: a mailbox with the lifespan of a mayfly.
